CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE THAT from the date hereof 16TH June 2026 to 7th July 2026, both dates inclusive, due to SEVERE RIVER BANK EROSION, no persons shall proceed on foot along that part of Sandy Public Footpath No.36 or Moggerhanger Public Footpath No.8 which extends from Point A – (OS GR) TL 515573 251912 to Point B (OS GR) TL 515345 250967.
This Emergency Closure is required as the surface of the footpath has narrowed due to erosion and the footpath is in danger of collapsing into the river.
There are no alternative routes. This emergency closure will be followed by a 6 month closure unless revetment work is carried out sooner.
