THANK YOU, BLUNHAM
Hi, we thought long and hard about whether to deliver the June edition of Blunham Matters. We have decided to delay it until July, & in the meantime, issue this notice:
I don’t know where to begin in thanking the kind & caring residents of Blunham. I am fearful of missing individuals out, & if I do, please forgive me, & know that our thanks go to everyone who has helped someone else in any way, during the lock down.
So many people put themselves forward to join the Blunham Covid19 Support Group, thank you to those who organised and coordinated the group, and for all the different tasks that they have undertaken.
Thank you to the Wildon family who have provided hand sanitiser to those households that requested it via the Village Community Face Book Page.
The Village Maintenance team have kept working to maintain the verges, cemetery, churchyard, The Trap etc, and hence on the wonderful sunny days we have had, the village has really looked its best.
The shop has kept open and kept villagers supplied with provisions and their daily papers.
The Fish & Chip shop has continued to stay open providing take away food.
The post has continued to be delivered, and a huge thank you to our regular postmen and the relief ones who kept working. Many of us really appreciated the cards that Dave put through our letter boxes that made us smile.
Thank you to Hardings Nursery for keeping the village supplied with flowers at the weekends at such reasonable prices.
Thank you for the online church services to maintain weekly worship for those whom it means so much to.
It is lovely to see the thank you notes on the dustbins acknowledging support for the refuse collectors.
Thank you to those members of the community who have supported others in the village but are not part of the Covid19 Support Group.
Paul Gibbs for playing his saxophone on The Hill for all to enjoy.
Finally, thank you to everyone for observing social distancing and keeping the village as safe as we possibly can be.
As I said at the beginning, there are probably many other acts of kindness that are going “under the radar”, so thank you to everyone who has put someone else’s needs first.
